Genesis 48:11: “And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.

Joseph was favoured by his father Jacob (Israel) over the rest of his brothers. Out of jealousy, Joseph’s brothers schemed to get rid of him and sold him to the Egyptians. They made it seem to their father that he was attacked and devoured by a beast and through the perceived loss of his son, Jacob became full of sorrow. He thought he would never be able to see his son again. But down the line, God made a way and brought Jacob to see his son Joseph once again. In Genesis 48:11 Jacob expresses that not only has he been blessed with seeing Joseph, which he never thought was possible, but was blessed with seeing the sons of Joseph as well. Jacob never thought that he would ever see his son again, but God made a way and more. God made possible what Jacob never even thought of or saw as possible and blessed him beyond that with seeing the sons of Joseph (his grandchildren) as well.

God is not only able to give us the desires of our hearts, but is able and willing to go above and beyond what we can possibly think or ask for. In situations that we don’t even think are possible or a lost cause God is able. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
